Quebec City

From Montreal we arrived to Quebec City after spending the night in a beautiful campground under the falling maple leaves. We found out that Quebec City has good bike trails so we took advantage of that and rode 8km to get to the touristic part of the old city. The trail we took passes along a river and then the port.

Arriving at the old city, we took the funicular to go up to the upper town. The old city is known for its old beautiful castles and citadel.
Château Frontenac, said to be the most photographed hotel (in the world or something...)
We strolled between the old city's narrow and artsy alleys and on top of the city walls.

The weather was beautiful and then in a matter of seconds clouds covered the sky and it started raining so hard that we had to stop at McDonald's for lunch. Guess who was very happy... By the time we were done it was nice again and we walked along a panoramic promenade, looking at the river. Before we knew it, it started raining again, sleet this time. The best shelter in the area was a phone booth.
When the sun was out again this beautiful rainbow came out
And the most photographed Château, from a different angle
We rode the 8km back to the rv. We arrived after dark and slept tight!

Beautiful autumn leaves, wow, lucky guys you are!!! What a trip, what an impressions, do you have time enough to process it all :-)
We are getting autumn too!!! It is really cool now, only 23 degrees, fresh mornings, but when the sun comes out it warms up, but still fresh wind. It feels good after two summers, man what a heat we processed this year......Leaves are falling here too, the gardner has busy times:-)
But the turtles in the pond still come out the water to enjoy the sunshine, sooo cute!!! We do a lot of biking here too, it is so good to have that freedom feeling again! The funny thing is that the Chinese are already wearing sweaters to go out while we are still in our T-shirts, same as in Brazil!! Last year they had a pack of snow.......I wonder if we have clothes enough to keep warm then....
Enjoy your days in the beautiful environment (btw it looks very European in Quebec)
Bye, Augusta

I love the phone booth photo - good on you Daga for braving the elements for a good picture! :-) Quebec City looks amazing - the colors are beautiful! Plus - I just love "castles". It is autumn here as well but we are SO LUCKY that it is still very warm during the day and the nights are only a little cool. Let's hope it lasts until the end of November. (yea, right).

Yes Augusta it does look a lot like Europe. We're back in the US now, getting used to it again. Cathy don't worry, the photo was taken after the rain had stopped. Enjoy the last warm days!
