In upper peninsula, Michigan, we visited Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The park is located on the shore of Lake Superior. The main park attraction are colorful sandstone cliffs that slide down into the lake's clear water. The cliffs reach to a height of 60-70m. Beside that there are waterfalls, dunes and forests. The forests are different to the ones we've seen so far, as they have less pine trees and more oaks.
We saw the cliffs from "Miners Castle", named after the copper miners that were mining in the area years ago.
We also met this (not so) little guy. This caterpillar changes color according to its background color - green/brown. It's well camouflaged also because it looks very similar to the cones in the area. We think it's a Tobacco Hornworm
From there, Dagan and Aviv drove to the sandy Miners Beach right below to wait for Adi and me while we were taking the 1m trail down to the same place. The beach has a large variety of rocks on shore, quartz, granite, sand and more. We were busy sorting out some of the pebbles.
We continued towards the tip of the peninsula and crossed Mackinac Bridge. By the time we got there, the weather was foggy and rainy. It made the bridge look spooky...
We woke up to a rainy day and we continue driving south bound to south Michigan. Lynn - we will pass very close to Battle Creek(-:

Hi guys, beautiful views again! I love the color of the lakes. Who are you meeting next?
Next we're meeting Vito and Tracey in Toronto. Going to Canada again...
Please give Vito a big hug from us....and Tracey too. I hope they let you back in to Canada (and then back into the Us - it's illegal you know!) :-)
We sure will, Cathy. Hope they will be nicer to us in the border this time.
Sent our greetings too to Mr. de Vito (he doesn`t realy know us I think) and Tracey! Have fun!!!
