Pismo Beach

Along the coast we stopped for the night at Pismo Beach. Dagan and I spent here a night maybe 10 years ago and we wanted to stay here again.
In the state park campground we saw signs of butterflies along the road so we took our bikes and went to check what it's all about. We arrived to a place called monarch butterfly grove. We saw three telescopes pointed at eucalyptus trees and few butterflies in the air. When we approached closer and looked through the telescope we saw thousands of butterflied arranged in clusters up on the trees.

More and more people gathered to see this wonder and then we heard a short talk about the monarchs. They travel all the way from south Canada to mate and lay eggs in warm California. There are about 23,000 butterflies visiting this year.

We have a new embellishment for the rv - a "for sale" sign. Isn't it sad...?

Yes it's sad........but who says you cannot do it again in some years? In another country? Or the same? With or without the kids? Normally the planning and dreaming is a fun part of it, so you can start now to dream about your next trip...........
I think it will be GREAT for you to settle, to have the family around you - but I also think you will feel the "explorer" part of you getting stronger and stronger after some years - and then it's good to have a new plan to set out in life :-)

You can't sell it - we're all attached to it from living vicariously through you throughout this journey! It's certainly been incredible to read and view. You went through some more of my "old stomping grounds" when going from Death Valley to the coast. You probably were on 395 and 58 "Tehachape Pass." I lived in Lancaster and worked at Edwards A.F. Base, which you likely passed when you were on 58 and I used to recreate a lot in the mountains and gorges along 395 (including skiing the Eureka sand dunes, which I believe seeing in your Death Valley photos). You've done a fantastic job logging your travels. Enjoy! - Jim

We can't sell it cause nobody buys anything these days(-: We can ship it to Iowa, there's a perfect spot for it in your driveway.

I completely agree with Jim, how can we continue without your RV blog? We are all addicted to it, and now you`re thinking of taking it away from us? How cruel!
You owe us something......:-)
Hang on guys,Augusta
